The Junior Youth Spiritual Empowerment Program is inviting junior youth aged 11-14 and youth aged 15-plus to join us for a youth camp at the Rabbittown Community Centre on Saturday, Nov. 13. There will also be a program for younger children aged 7-10.
Our program is part of a worldwide movement to empower youth to
Develop language and powers of expression
Develop the capacity to make positive decisions
Develop comprehension and critical thinking
Plan and execute service projects
Sound like hard work? Not really, if you're having fun!
Each week, in neighbourhoods and villages around the world, groups of 10 -15 junior youth gather weekly to share stories, make art, play games, participate in service projects and a variety of other activities that help them foster positive relationships and grow into productive young adults.
To get an idea of what our junior youth groups are like, check out the following video about a junior youth empowerment group in London, Ontario. Then please see the schedule for our upcoming camp below.
Youth Camp, Saturday, Nov. 13, Rabbittown Community Centre - Schedule

12:15 - 1:45 p.m. Junior youth and children's activities

In order to keep all our participants safe, we will require everyone above the age of 11 to show proof of vaccination through the NLVaxPass or a print-out and bring a photo I.D. Participants will be required to wear masks during the camp.
Over the past 20 years, the worldwide junior youth spiritual empowerment movement has learned that the program works best in empowering junior youth when their families are involved. So, we invite parents to drop by for a presentation by the youth at the end of the program. Please come a little before 1:45 so we have time to greet you and offer you a coffee.
What happens in junior youth groups?
During JY sessions, participants develop their powers of expression, their ability to solve problems and their capacity to be of service to humanity.
Participants develop these powers through a combination of activities.
Junior youth participate in art, music, storytelling and cooperative games. These activities help them to develop their powers of expression and to make friends.
The junior youth read, think about and discuss stories about young people from different parts of the world. They come up with ways to apply the lessons found in these stories to real-life problems.
The junior youth come up with ideas for community service projects and carry them out themselves. By doing this, they develop their capacity to consult with others, solve problems and be of service to humanity.
Older adolescents and young adults assist the junior youth as "JY animators." However, it is the junior youth themselves who take the initiative in group projects.
